Apprentice

Megan Piagentini is an artist that transitioned from a strong foundation in competitive gymnastics. She began her dance studies at Jenny’s Dance Centre, training extensively across a wide range of dance styles. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Dance and a BS in Kinesiology/Movement Science. During her time at Michigan, Megan performed works by Kyunghwa Hong, Biza Sompa, and FlockWorks, and was featured at the Detroit City Dance Festival in pieces by Andrea Salazar and Lauren Blaire Smith. Her original BFA choreography, The Weight of Absence, was selected for performance and adjudication at the 2026 American College Dance Association (ACDA) East-Central Conference at Ohio University. Her performance credits also include the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) Conference and the SMTD Scholarship Showcase. Additionally, Megan was a member of Dance 2XS Michigan, a pre-professional hip-hop company, performing throughout the Midwest and opening for the Detroit Pistons. Beyond the stage, she gained valuable arts-industry experience through administrative and apprentice positions with DanceWorks Chicago and Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre. She is currently an apprentice with The LAUNCH Chicago dance company, is a dance instructor at Jenny’s Dance Center, and works as a physical/occupational therapy technician at IBJI. Megan is thrilled for her first season with The Launch and continuing to grow and create with incredible passionate movers in the Chicagoland area.
